Gear You Can Bet Your Life On

In the wild, your equipment is your only lifeline. We refuse to compromise on your safety.

At Boreal Peak Outfitters, we don't build gear for casual strolls in the city park. We engineer high-performance lifelines for the harshest environments on Earth. From the glacial winds of the Coast Mountains to the unforgiving humidity of the Boreal Forest, our products are stress-tested to the breaking point so that you don't have to be.

Because of this, we stand by every stitch, seam, and buckle we produce. If your gear arrives and it doesn't fit right, feel right, or perform exactly as you need it to for your upcoming expedition, we want it back. The Ironclad Wilderness Guarantee is our promise to you: 100% satisfaction, or we make it right. No haggling, no corporate red tape. Just outdoor professionals taking care of their own.

The Return Protocol

You have 30 days from the moment your gear arrives at basecamp to decide if it's worthy of your kit. To be eligible for a return, your items must meet these strict criteria:

Life-Safety & Non-Returnable Gear

For the uncompromising safety of our community, certain items are final sale the moment they leave our facility. When you clip into a carabiner on a 500-foot rock face in Squamish, you need to know with absolute certainty that it hasn't been compromised by a previous buyer.

Strictly Non-Returnable Items:

  • All load-bearing climbing equipment (harnesses, ropes, carabiners, cams, nuts).
  • Avalanche safety gear (beacons, probes, deployable airbags).
  • Next-to-skin baselayers, merino wool underwear, and socks (for hygienic integrity).
  • Dehydrated expedition meals and water filtration cartridges.

The Repair Outpost

Scars tell a story. Don't throw away good gear.

Did a rogue ember from your Algonquin campfire burn a hole in your expensive down jacket? Did a sharp rock tear the DWR-coated nylon of your favorite tent? Don't return it—repair it.

Before you consider throwing out damaged gear, send it to the Boreal Peak Repair Outpost. Our master seamstresses and technicians can patch GORE-TEX, replace waterproof zippers, and re-stuff lost goose down. We believe in keeping gear out of landfills and on the mountain where it belongs. Contact us for a repair quote today.

Initiating a Return or Exchange

If you need to send something back to Banff, the process is straightforward.

  1. Radio the Outpost: Send a dispatch via our Contact page with your order number and a brief explanation of why the gear didn't make the cut.
  2. Receive your RMA: We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid shipping label (deducted from your final refund).
  3. Pack it Up: Securely package the item, slap the label on the box, and drop it off at your local carrier outpost.
  4. Evaluation & Refund: Once it arrives at our facility, our technicians will inspect it within 48 hours. If it passes inspection, your refund will be processed immediately to your original payment method (allow 5-10 days for banking systems to catch up).

Exchanges On the Fly

Need an exchange before a big trip? The fastest route is to initiate a standard return for your current item and immediately place a fresh order for the new size or color. This ensures your new gear is on the road before the old gear even reaches us.
